Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean organizes Foodie PenPals every month. I had never participated and thought it sounded like fun. So, I was paired with 2 new friends; Jennifer from Plymouth, MA who I sent a box to, and also with Ronda from NY City who sent me a box. Unfortunately, neither are bloggers, so we are not able to see what they received, but I am sure they will become bloggers in the near future.

Foodie PenPals is a fun way to hook up with other people from all over the map. Anyone can join the fun. Every month Lindsay assigns everyone a new Foodie PenPal who we send a package filled with foods of your choice. You will also receive a foodie package from a different person who is assigned to you. You will have no idea what is being sent to you, but in most cases you will LOVE it! Just use your imagination and try to not spend more than $15 on you foodie items. A Word of caution….watch the weight.  Multiple JARS of Foodies can add weight to your package postage.  Ronda sent me some wonderful homemade banana bread with chocolate chips in it, and a large bag of wonderful Zabar's coffee. I could smell the coffee when I opened my mailbox…lolo

This is the first time I participated in the food exchange and I will continue to take part in this fun event.  It was fun browsing through one of the specialty markets in my area deciding what I wanted to send my new Pal.

My husband and I ate the bread within 2 days and are still enjoying the coffee.  I was very pleased when I received my Foodie box.  When Ronda wrote me about my food likes, I told her I liked most anything except for sardines!  I was so worried she would send me sardines as a joke.  Thank you Ronda for not being a “jokester”…lololo
